KGW News is reporting that a salesperson at the popular store The Meadow on North Mississippi Avenue was robbed by a man and a 10-year-old boy. According to the report, the duo entered the store at about 6:30pm Saturday. While the man pinned the woman down, holding her arms and mouth, the boy went around the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The sales clerk was not hurt.
The Meadow, with a branch in Portland and in New York City, is known for its large selection of salts, along with chocolates, wine, flowers, etc. Strange place to rob.
I wish them the best. You can read more details here.
When I read stories like this, I have to wonder what the hell is going on in the world.
"I have a wide-range of food experience - working in the restaurant industry on both sides of the house, later in the wine industry, and finally traveling/tasting my way around the world. Whether you agree or disagree, you can always count on my unbiased opinion. I don't take free meals, and the restaurants don't know when, or if, I am coming."
