NFL Network Shaun O'Hara doesn't see the Steelers as the Deebo of the division anymore. Donovan McNabb disagrees, to an extent.
Gone are James Harrison, Rashard Mendenhall, Mike Wallace and Keenan Lewis, says NFL Network.
Certainly not new news.
NFL Network analyst Shaun O'Hara at least gets sort of original, in suggesting much of the 2013 season will be on offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
"Dick LeBeau, he's walking into the meeting room with Mike Tomlin and Todd Haley, and he's saying, 'what more can I do?'" O'Hara said, illustrating his point that the Steelers offense needs to step up in 2013, citing a decline in big-play production from the unit coached by former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians to Haley's regime last season.
"The second thing is the run game," O'Hara continued. "It slipped down to 26th. They only averaged 96 yards per game. They've got to do a better job on offense."
O'Hara picked the Steelers to finish third in the AFC North, behind Baltimore and Cincinnati for the second consecutive year.
Former Eagles, Redskins and Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb was a bit more optimistic on the Steelers' chances in 2013.
Citing the health history of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, McNabb noted that concern, but pointed out Roethlisberger had the best third-down rating in the NFL before his injury in Week 10. McNabb also thought Roethlisberger tried to do too much when he returned from that injury.
McNabb picked the Bengals to win the division, the Steelers finishing second and the Ravens third.
"I think he and Todd Haley are going to sit down in training camp, get things hashed out, and I think they're going to explode throughout the season."
O'Hara didn't buy it.
"The Steelers are no longer Deebo," he said, referring to the character in the movie "Friday," after which the former Steeler Harrison was nicknamed. "They're no longer stealing that beach cruiser from the other teams of the division. They are all getting better."
Come the start of the season, we'll see who's bike it is. Punk.

Just because a pair of speakers uses Bluetooth doesn't mean they're going to sound like crap. Audyssey's Wireless Bluetooth Speakers received several surprising rave reviews
Right now Woot's tech deal is a pair of Audyssey Wireless Bluetooth Speakers, which were well liked by Giz alum Sam Biddle. He concluded
The speakers look great and sound fantastic, but $300 is a lot for Bluetooth stereo.... But if a 2.0 setup that pretty much every device that everyone owns will be able to send music to?and sound terrific?is worth $300 to you, then yes. But that's quite a bit?I'd recommend waiting for a sale or price drop.
The price has finally dropped. After shipping at Woot they're $105. Amazon's still selling them for $184. The MSRP is $300. They're new, not refurbished. They come with a one-year warranty. It's a good deal. [Woot via 9to5Toys]

Essentially, it's an opportunity to stream live NFL games on your computer. That's not available anywhere else, for any price. We're here at CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas, and although the show hasn't officially kicked off yet we had the opportunity to play with two of Otterbox's latest cases for the HTC One. At the middle and high tier of protection from Otterbox, the "Commuter" and "Defender" cases for the One are stylish but extremely functional options. The Commuter is the thinner of the two, with a two piece design that's primarily a rubber wrap-around case with a hard plastic shell that clips onto it. It doesn't add a considerable amount of bulk to the device but does add a serious amount of protection. If the Commuter isn't enough, the Defender will likely cover your device from anything you throw at it. A larger affair, the Defender has an integrated screen protector in the case, as well as extra shock protection. The end result is a case that is a touch thicker than the Commuter but considerably more rugged.
Both cases keep every function and button of the phone unobstructed -- as you would hope -- including the power button IR blaster and all microphone ports. Stick around after the break for a gallery of the two cases wrapped around an HTC One, with the thinner Commuter first then followed by the thicker and more durable Defender.

But perhaps the most significant reason to tune in is the fact that Kanye West is the musical guest, and he's making it seem like he really, really doesn't want to be. With West's apparent frustration with the show and his penchant for, shall we say ... off-the-cuff remarks, producers should be worried and we should be excited. Is there a better combo than that?

Three consumer smartphones that were sent into orbit around Earth last month snapped some incredible photos of our planet from space.
The images were snitched together as part of NASA's PhoneSat initiative, which aims to show how existing technology could be incorporated into powerful low-cost satellites.
Named Alexander, Graham and Bell, the trio of tiny cube-shaped PhoneSats was launched into orbit during the inaugural test flight of Orbital Sciences Corp's Antares rocket on April 21.
Each PhoneSat had a smartphone for a brain. Alexander and Graham ? both PhoneSat 1.0s ? were battery-powered and carried a Nexus One smartphone running Goggle's Android operating system. Bell was a more advanced PhoneSat 2.0, built around a Nexus S smartphone running on Android. The nanosatellite was also outfitted with solar panels and a two-way radio that allowed engineers to control the satellite from the ground. What's perhaps most remarkable is that they were cheap. The three PhoneSats cost just $3,500 to $7,000 each; most satellites can cost upwards of $1 million. [Smartphones in Space! Photos of NASA's PhoneSats & More]
NASA officials were pleased with the brief mission, which ended on April 27, when the three satellites made a fiery re-entry into Earth's atmosphere.
"During the short time the spacecraft were in orbit, we were able to demonstrate the smartphones' ability to act as satellites in the space environment," Bruce Yost, the program manager for NASA's Small Satellite Technology Program, said in a statement from the space agency.
As part of this demonstration, the smarthphones' cameras captured photos of Earth and converted them into image-data "packets" to be beamed back on the amateur radio spectrum. These packets were then decoded and put together by the PhoneSat team and amateur ham radio operators.
"The PhoneSat project also provided an opportunity for NASA to collaborate with its space enthusiasts," Yost added. "Amateur radio operators from every continent but Antarctica contributed in capturing the data packets we needed to piece together the smartphones' image of Earth from space."
Alberto Guillen Salas, an engineer at the Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., who is working on the PhoneSat project, said the team had received more than 300 data packets just three days into the mission.
"About 200 of the data packets were contributed by the global community and the remaining packets were received from members of our team with the help of the Ames Amateur Radio Club station, NA6MF," Salas said.
The PhoneSats aren't the first smartphones to fly in space. A British-built satellite called STRaND-1, which was put into orbit earlier this year, was powered by a Google Nexus One phone.

Although it feels like we JUST got our "Grimm" back, the season finale is really upon us. It would be easy to get lost in the sadness a Grimm-less summer, so it's especially great to have this exclusive sneak peak to feast on ahead of Tuesday's finale.
It's a scene between Nick and his not-quite fiancee Juliette, where she seems to be confronting him on the whole Nick-is-a-Grimm thing.
"Well, I now know why you couldn't tell me everything," she starts off.
Calmly, Nick replies, "I wanted to tell you. I just didn't know how. I was afraid for you to see a world that I didn't fully understand and now I'm afraid to push you into a world you're not prepared for."
"It's not as if you were prepared for it," Juliette responds. "And at least I know I'm OK. I haven't lost my mind."
Except the way she says, "I haven't lost my mind"? It makes a person think SHE HAS TOTALLY LOST HER MIND.
Here's what we know: For some reason, Nick really loves Juliette. Juliette has been spending the past few episodes trying to A) piece together the details of her last lucid days as a doting girlfriend and almost-fiancee to Nick, and B) get all Wesen-induced weirdness out of her head.
So maybe she is just saying, "Hey, I get it now. And we can be together," or maybe she's saying that and she's giving us a little clue that this whole experience has left her a touch loony. (Not that we could blame her.) For Nick's sake, he might be better off without her. For the sake of keeping things interesting -- bring on the crazy.
Tune in to the season finale of "Grimm" Tuesday at 10 p.m. on NBC.

O.J. Simpson?s current appeal for a new trial has the potential to shed light on an issue that affects countless lesser-known defendants in the US court system: bad lawyering. Along the way, he might get a helping hand from the US Supreme Court.
Mr. Simpson is seeking a ruling overturning his conviction of armed robbery and kidnapping of sports memorabilia dealers in 2007. He says his counsel was inadequate and that his lawyer misled co-counsel.
"I had never sold any of my personal memorabilia, ever,'' he testified Wednesday, dressed in prison blues.

Squabbles between lawyers and their clients and co-counsels are not uncommon, says Robert Pugsley, a professor at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
?Most clients in this situation are so poor or low on the economic scale that their bad lawyering doesn?t get much attention, and so the issue remains largely unnoticed,? he adds. ?Whether Simpson prevails or not, this proceeding has a great chance to put the spotlight on this widespread problem.?
Yet appeals like the one Simpson is bringing only rarely meet with success.
Want your top political issues explained? Get customized DC Decoder updates.
?He actually has a case with merits, but these are extreme, uphill battles because you are asking a court to substitute its own judgment, years later with faded memories, for that of the judge at the time,? says Rene Sandler, of Sandler Law LLC in Rockville, Md., who has two decades of experience in such cases.
Simpson?s claim of ineffective assistance of counsel ?will predictably devolve into a ?he said, he said,? conflicting, fact-based narrative by Simpson and his former attorney,? says Professor Pugsley. Simpson's counsel in the robbery case that went to trial in 2008, Yale Galanter, has refused to comment publicly but is scheduled to testify Friday.
Potentially working in Simpson?s favor is a US Supreme Court ruling last session (Missouri v. Frye) that held that the guarantee of ?effective assistance of counsel? extends to the consideration and negotiation of pleas ? Simpson?s key complaint.
Co-counsel in the 2008 trial, Gabriel Grasso, said on the stand this week that while Mr. Galanter told him he'd talk with Simpson about a proposed plea deal, Galanter never told Mr. Grasso why he rejected it. Grasso said he didn't know if Simpson was even told.
?O.J. might have the good luck to rely on the Supreme Court?s decision last term in Missouri v. Frye. Timing is everything,? says Laurie Levenson, a professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
Although the decision is to be made by a single judge rather than a jury, the perceived veracity of Simpson is important. How did he do?
This is the first time Simpson has testified at any of his trials, going back to 1995?s so-called ?trial of the century,? in which he was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. He was later convicted in a civil trial and ordered to pay more than $35 million to the two families, but again, never testified.
Though this trial is unrelated, "He's been wanting to tell his story. He's excited about telling his story," Simpson's current attorney, Ozzie Fumo, told the Associated Press.
Simpson maintains that advice from Galanter not to testify in 2008 is, in fact, part of the reason for this week?s appeal.
?While prison has had a major effect on his physical appearance, with weight gain, puffiness, and graying hair, O.J. Simpson did not show any signals of deception as he testified," writes Lillian Glass, author of "Toxic People: 10 Ways Of Dealing With People Who Make Your Life Miserable,? in an e-mail. ?He is fluent and doesn't hesitate and appears plausible. O.J also sounds and shows plausible signs with regards to his not using weapons.?
?He appeared forthcoming, especially about his drinking and his drinking at breakfast and throughout the morning. O.J.?s explanation of security makes sense,? she says.
The appeal is taking place in Las Vegas, and this is Simpson's last chance under Nevada law to prove that he was wrongly convicted. A federal court appeal is still possible.
However, the standard of proof is so high that Simpson is unlikely to meet it, even if the judge believes everything he says, says Norman Garland, a professor at Southwestern Law School.
?Simpson has to prove not only that the advice given to him was deficient, but that he was prejudiced by that deficiency,? says Professor Garland. ?The requirements for demonstrating ineffective assistance of counsel are demanding, and the defendant must overcome a strong presumption that counsel?s performance was within the range of competent representation in order to prevail.?

NEW YORK (AP) ? Scientists have finally recovered stem cells from cloned human embryos, a longstanding goal that could lead to new treatments for such illnesses as Parkinson's disease and diabetes.
A prominent expert called the work a landmark, but noted that a different, simpler technique now under development may prove more useful.
Stem cells can turn into any cell of the body, so scientists are interested in using them to create tissue for treating disease. Transplanting brain tissue might treat Parkinson's disorder, for example, and pancreatic tissue might be used for diabetes.
But transplants run the risk of rejection, so more than a decade ago, researchers proposed a way around that: Create tissue from stem cells that bear the patient's own DNA, obtained with a process called therapeutic cloning.
If DNA from a patient is put into a human egg, which is then grown into an early embryo, the stem cells from that embryo would provide a virtual genetic match. So in theory, tissues created from them would not be rejected by the patient.
That idea was met with some ethical objections because harvesting the stem cells involved destroying human embryos.
Scientists have tried to get stem cells from cloned human embryos for about a decade, but they've failed. Generally, that's because the embryos stopped developing before producing the cells. In 2004, a South Korean scientist claimed to have gotten stem cells from cloned human embryos, but that turned out to be a fraud.
In Wednesday's edition of the journal Cell, however, scientists in Oregon report harvesting stem cells from six embryos created from donated eggs. Two embryos had been given DNA from skin cells of a child with a genetic disorder, and the others had DNA from fetal skin cells.
Shoukhrat Mitalipov of the Oregon Health & Science University, who led the research, said the success came not from a single technical innovation, but from revising a series of steps in the process. He noted it had taken six years to reach the goal after doing it with monkey embryos.
Mitalipov also said that based on monkey work, he believes human embryos made with the technique could not develop into cloned babies, and he has no interest in trying to do that. Scientists have cloned more than a dozen kinds of mammals, starting with Dolly the sheep.
The new work was financed by the university and the Leducq Foundation in Paris.
Dr. George Daley, a stem cell expert at Children's Hospital Boston who didn't participate in the work, called the new results "one landmark step in a very long journey" toward creating DNA-matched transplant tissue.
Now, Daley said, scientists must compare the embryo-cloning approach with another technology that reprograms blood or skin cells directly into substitutes for embryonic stem cells. This reprogramming approach is technically simpler and doesn't involve embryos or require the donation of human eggs, and it was widely acclaimed when it was reported in 2007. Its Japanese developer shared a Nobel Prize last year.
But these substitute cells show some molecular differences compared to embryonic ones, which has led to questions about whether they can safely be used for treating patients. So it's essential to compare the cells from the two methods, Daley said.
The new results mean "we have another tool," he said. "We have to learn more about this tool."
Daley said he believed scientists will prefer using the reprogramming approach unless it can be proven "beyond a shadow of a doubt" that embryo cloning produces better cells for treating patients.
Mitalipov said he believed his technique would present a particular advantage for treating patients with a certain type of rare diseases. These are caused by mutations in genes of the mitochondria, the power plants of cells. He noted his technique, unlike the cell-reprogramming approach, would supply tissue with new mitochondrial genes that could replace defective ones. Those new genes would come from the egg.
The Rev. Tad Pacholczyk, director of education for National Catholic Bioethics Center, an independent think tank in Philadelphia, reiterated his opposition to embryo cloning, calling the approach unethical.
"It involves the decision to utilize early human beings as repositories for obtaining desired cells," he said. "You're creating them only to destroy them."
Marcy Darnovsky, executive director of the Center for Genetics and Society in Berkeley, Calif., said she was glad that Mitalipov doubted the embryos could be used to clone babies. She said the report still provides a good opportunity for the federal government to ban the use of cloning for reproduction.

The Oscar-winning actress and partner to Brad Pitt made the announcement in an op-ed she authored for Tuesday's New York Times under the headline, "My Medical Choice." She writes that between early February and late April she completed three months of surgical procedures to remove both breasts. (AP Photo/Amel Emric, file)
LOS ANGELES (AP) ? In her bad girl days, Angelina Jolie's body was a billboard for tattoos that said such things as "Billy Bob."
Now she's sharing intimate details of her anatomy to help women at risk, going public with her preventive double mastectomy to greatly reduce her high odds of breast cancer.
It's the latest peak in Jolie's turn-around from hedonist to humanitarian, party girl to inspirational poster girl. The way she went public with her medical story on her own terms, in her own time ? with a New York Times op-ed piece Tuesday that caught the media fishbowl of Hollywood completely by surprise ? reveals a woman who once seemed out of control to be one of Hollywood's most forceful and compassionate stars, using her fame with surgical precision to promote matters dear to her.
"I'm in awe of her. She remains one of the most inspiring women that I've ever encountered," said former Paramount Pictures boss Sherry Lansing, who heads the Sherry Lansing Foundation for cancer research. "By letting people know about her personal issue, she is touching countless women who have the same genetic mutations, and she is showing them that they have choices and they can be empowered and can take care of their own health. And by doing so, I believe she is going to save countless lives."
Jolie's come a long way from her wild-child days of 10 or 12 years ago. She was branded a home-wrecker when she took up with Billy Bob Thornton, who broke up with Laura Dern and married Jolie. Thornton and Jolie were a tabloid writer's dream team, an odd couple who wore lockets with a drop of each other's blood.
Back in 2000, Jolie proudly showed off the newest of her 10 tattoos, the name "Billy Bob" etched across her left shoulder. The marriage ended three years later, and new home-wrecker accusations arose after Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for Jolie, his co-star in the 2005 assassin adventure "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
But since then, while paparazzi stalk them and entertainment reporters scramble to chase the latest rumor that Jolie and Pitt are finally going to wed, they have emerged as the ultimate Hollywood power couple. They switch off on film projects so one is free to mind their six children, they travel the world talking up good deeds.
"If she wasn't one of the top actresses in Hollywood, she'd be one of the top publicists," said Howard Bragman, vice chairman of Reputation.com. "It's hard to think of a couple that has a better image in this town, both for their careers, family, humanitarian work. ... They're very good at it, and one of the reasons is they have a very intimate circle that they trust, and they don't go beyond that. It's unusual in Hollywood circles, but they're very strict about their personal life, about what gets out there. When something gets out there, it's usually planned to get out there. It doesn't leak. They don't even have publicists."
A special envoy on refugee issues for the United Nations, Jolie, 37, has become as much about causes as career.
She still makes big studio entertainment such as next year's "Maleficent," a twist on "Sleeping Beauty" in which she stars as the wicked sorceress who puts a curse on the fairy-tale princess. Yet Jolie puts her humanitarian interests on screen, too, making her directing debut with 2011's "In the Land of Blood and Honey," a war drama about two lovers ? a Bosnian Muslim woman and a Bosnian-Serbian man ? caught up in the horrors of work and rape camps.
"There is no difference between the star Angelina Jolie and the woman Angelina Jolie. The choices she made even as a director are still strong," said Thierry Fremaux, director of the Cannes Film Festival, where Jolie has been a frequent guest with films such as "Changeling" and "A Mighty Heart."
As for Jolie's op-ed piece about her mastectomy, "we all know that she didn't do that for herself but as giving an example to all the women on this planet Earth who are suffering from the same disease," Fremaux said. "We knew she was a great star, but she's a great person, as well."
Jolie wrote about her mother's death from cancer at 56 and that she carries a gene herself that, according to doctors, left her with an 87 percent chance of breast cancer and 50 percent chance of ovarian cancer. She describes in detail the procedures she underwent from early February to late April to remove tissue and reconstruct her breasts with implants.
She was treated at the Pink Lotus Breast Center in Beverly Hills, Calif. Dr. Kristi Funk, who founded the center in 2007, read a short statement to reporters Tuesday, saying "we hope that the awareness she is raising around the world will save countless lives."
The procedures reduced her risk of breast cancer to less than 5 percent, Jolie wrote.
"I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made," Jolie wrote. "I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer."
One of the most remarkable aspects of the story is how two of the most recognizable people in the world were able to make repeated incognito trips to Pink Lotus, where Jolie writes that Pitt was there for every minute of her surgeries. Jolie and Pitt are hounded by the press, so how they kept this a secret is anyone's guess.
"It's almost unspeakably amazing. In this world there is no privacy. David Petraeus couldn't keep a secret," said Hollywood publicist Michael Levine, who once represented Jolie's father, Jon Voight. "It's hard to imagine how they did it."
Announcing it in such a personal and classy way can only enhance Jolie's stature in Hollywood. With family and philanthropic work, Jolie has eased back on film projects, with future prospects including a possible sequel to her action hit "Salt," in which she played a sexy CIA agent on the run.
Will the mastectomy have any effect on Jolie's sex-symbol image?
"I feel like she is the kind of person who will do whatever it takes to still look fantastic. I think she has a discipline that is unmatched," said Dave Karger, chief correspondent for movie-ticket seller Fandango.com. "She will make sure that she looks just as great as she has in the past.
"I don't think that's going to make much of a difference, and I think a lot of people are going to have more respect. This humanizes her in a way. She's not that perfect specimen sticking her leg out at the Oscars anymore. She's a real human being with real health issues like any other human being."
A real human being, and no less of a woman, to hear Jolie tell it.
"I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity," Jolie wrote.

Here at the Nokia event in London, we've seen the Lumia 925 go from rumor to reality, and now we're hearing more about the camera software debuting on the handset. For starters, the app has improved low-light performance and noise reduction, and will burst capture at 5-megapixels, with the full 8.7-megapixels available in single-shooting mode. Sports shooters will get Action Shot, which combines several images for a slow-mo effect, and Best Shot will let you (or the camera) choose one of 10 frames that gives the best overall image. Motion focus will add a blur effect to the background while keeping moving objects in focus, with the option to adjust the level of blur later.
Burst shooting also gives the ability to selectively choose the most (or least) hammy expressions on your subjects and finally, there's an option that lets you delete moving objects that might be in the way of your subject, as shown above. Nokia announced that Smart Camera won't just be limited to the Lumia 925 either, as all of the Finnish company's Windows 8 Phone devices will get it through Nokia's Lumia Amber firmware update, arriving sometime this summer. If none of that works for you, there's always Hipstamatic, which was also just trumpeted for Windows Phone 8 at today's event.
Update: You can now see the Smart Cam in action in our hands-on video after the break. With skateboarding!

WASHINGTON (AP) ? U.S. businesses left their stockpiles unchanged in March for a second month while their sales fell sharply.
The Commerce Department says business stockpiles showed no increase in March on a seasonally adjusted basis. Businesses hadn't upped their restocking in February, either.
Sales fell 1.1 percent in March compared with February when sales had risen 1 percent.
A lack of inventory building could slow economic growth because it means businesses are ordering fewer factory-made goods.
But increased restocking at a time when sales are falling can also signal trouble for the economy, if businesses react by suddenly cutting back their stockpiles.

The Pentagon?s fear of condoning sex and logistical hurdles have prevented it from adequately providing servicewomen with adequate information and a full spectrum of contraceptive alternatives

Barriers to birth control?from policies that portray sex as taboo to restrictions on long-term medical procedures?may be contributing to unintended pregnancies among U.S. servicewomen in combat
Women in the U.S. Armed Forces have made significant inroads in the struggle for gender parity, including a recent victory that opened combat positions to women. But they face an important consideration that their male peers never have to take into account when choosing to enter the military?unintended pregnancy.
On the heels of a January study in Contraception that found women in the U.S. armed forces have difficulty obtaining birth control from military health clinics, many women have recently begun speaking out about potential solutions. The situation is of particular concern given two recent findings: one, a strikingly high number of servicewomen?as many as one in eight?get pregnant unintentionally while on duty; and two, sexual assault in the armed forces is on the rise. The problem is especially acute for those serving in combat overseas in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.
The study?s authors, global health specialist Kate Grindlay and gynecologist Daniel Grossman, surveyed 281 women who had served in combat in the U.S. Armed Forces overseas anytime since 2001. Among the team?s findings: military health professionals are not adequately informing women about the contraceptive methods available to them while in combat. As a result, more than one third of servicewomen surveyed said that while in combat zones, they did not have access to their preferred method of birth control.
Worse, military supervisors act as if sexual interaction does not occur, effectively preventing women from discussing or obtaining reliable methods of birth control, says Maricela Guzman, co-founder of civil rights nonprofit Service Women?s Action Network (SWAN) and a vocational rehabilitation specialist at the Department of Veterans Affairs. ?The military has this idea that if it provides birth control, it?s condoning sex. They think, if we give out the pill, we?re allowing it to happen,? Guzman says.
Sixty percent of servicewomen who participated in the study say they never spoke with a military medical representative before deployment about getting birth control while on tour, despite the military?s stance that pre-deployment health counseling is necessary. ?Every female service member should be counseled regarding contraception prior to deployment,? U.S. Air Force surgeon general liaison Donna Tinsley told Scientific American in an e-mail, ?Whether they see a gynecologist, nurse practitioner or primary care provider, discussion about contraception choices/use is standard in a woman's health screening examination,? she wrote.
Of the women who did manage to see a medical representative, many cited logistical problems with the conventional methods they were prescribed. Servicewomen reported difficulties carrying multiple packs of pills from base to base, problems taking pills at the same time each day while in combat and patches falling off in severe climates.
Although Tinsley contended the military provides ?the full spectrum of contraception? to female service members, the study found that servicewomen are often discouraged from using long-acting methods of birth control, such as IUDs, because some women are told they must have already given birth in order to qualify.
The problem of supply may lie with the Department of Defense, whose Basic Core Formulary, the required list of medications available at every military treatment facility, does not include most longer-acting forms of birth control. Emergency contraception, known as plan B, wasn?t added until a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union mandated its inclusion in 2010. To guarantee access to long-term contraception, Tinsley wrote, use of longer-acting methods ?should be initiated prior to deployment.? She added that most other contraception?with the exception of the contraception ring NuvaRing, which must be refrigerated??is available through field medical facilities, but the service member should have their own 90-day supply when she deploys.?

Sony's Xperia ZR isn't reaching the market all by its lonesome: it's accompanied by a high-end Bluetooth headset, the SBH50. The sequel to the Smart Wireless Headset Pro mostly ups the ante with NFC -- listeners just have to tap the smart remote against their Xperias (or many other NFC-aware devices) to get going. There's still the emphasis on higher-than-usual quality for wireless audio; likewise, the remote continues to preview calls and messages, play FM radio and take the owner's pick of wired headphones. Sony has only committed to launching the SBH50 "soon" and hasn't mentioned prices, but we'd use the previous headset's $150 price as a rough benchmark. Catch Sony's overview video after the break.

LUXOR, Egypt (AP) ? An Egyptian Christian teacher detained over charges of insulting Islam has been released on bail on Tuesday, her lawyer said.
A history and geography teacher in the southern city of Luxor, 24-year-old Dimiana Abdul-Nour paid L.E. 20,000 (almost $3,000 dollars) to be freed pending further investigation, the lawyer, Badawi Abu-Shanab said. The decision comes four days after a judge ordered her detained for 14 days during the investigation.
Parents of a student had accused the teacher of showing contempt to Islam while talking to fourth-graders about religion. Three pupils allegedly complained the teacher showed disgust when she talked about Islam, something the family and lawyer of Abdul-Nour denied.
Egypt is witnessing a surge of blasphemy-related allegations leveled by ultraconservative Islamists against their critics, including the country's Christians who make up 10 percent of the population.
Christians have long complained of discrimination. Emboldened by Islamist electoral gains since the ouster of president Hosni Mubarak in the 2011 uprising, members of the fundamentalist Salafi movement have recently been linked to a spike of violence against Christians.
Just like cases of insulting Islam have been on the rise lately, instances of Egyptians investigated over insulting Islamist President Mohammed Morsi have also spiked.
In one recent case, a Muslim English school teacher was summoned for questioning on Tuesday by police over a question in the final exam he wrote that was deemed an insult to Morsi, according to the state-run Al-Ahram daily website.
The accusations, filed by the Alexandria Teachers' Union, alleged that Ihab el-Islamboli included a question in his exam which mentions that: "in the animal kingdom, a sheep can't be king," according to the paper.
Opponents of Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood have been using references to sheep to mock the group's members, saying they blindly obey instructions of their leaders. The teacher denied the allegations and said there is not a single reference to the president in the whole exam, the paper said.
Egypt has been deeply polarized under the rule of Morsi, who is seen by opposition as empowering Islamists and not living up to promises to include liberals as partners in politics after the uprising.
